ONWR Summer Hours:
Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge announces extended summer visiting hours effective March 1, 2011. The following times affect the east entrance only, located twelve miles southwest of Folkston, Georgia, off Hwy. 121/23. The main entrance gate at the East (Folkston) entrance will open one-half hour before sunrise and close at 7:30 p.m. Visitors may enter Swamp Island Drive until 6:00 p.m. and must exit no later than 7:00 p.m. All day-use boats must be off the water by 6:00 p.m. The refuge Visitor Center remains open from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. year-round.
